Paolo Javier has been a Tagalog translator and instructor for years. He has translated (from the Pilipino) the works of Tagalog poets Federico Licsi Espino, Jr., Ruth Elynia S. Mabanglo, E. San Juan Jr., and Cirillo Bautista. He is the author of the forthcoming poetry collection The Time At The End Of This Writing (Ahadada Press), and founder/editor of 2nd Avenue Press, an online poetry journal devoted to innovative North Asian American poetries. He is currently in the MFA program of the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College, and lives in Queens.
