About the AMC

The Administrative Management Council (AMC) is the organization through which the administrators (management and professional personnel) of NYU participate in University governance. Representatives to the AMC are elected from within each school and division.

The AMC initiates, deliberates, and responds to the issues and concerns of its administrative constituents and the University community. Additionally, the AMC is committed to promoting the professional growth and development of NYU administrators, and it is deeply committed to community service.

Most of the work of the AMC is accomplished in its standing and ad hoc committees. Committee membership, which is open to all NYU administrators, offers a wonderful way to become involved in the NYU community. On the University Senate, the AMC is represented by five senators, one of whom is always the current chair of the AMC. Additionally, the AMC holds monthly general meetings, and these are also open to all administrators.

If you would like to learn more about the AMC, or join one of its committees, talk to one of your AMC school or unit representatives or feel free to contact us.
