Athletics Hall of Fame
As the head coach of NYUs wrestling team from 1975 to 1986, Dr. Jack Peckett (GSAS 75) inspired many young athletes to develop their full potential both on and off the mat. During his many years at the University, he was also instrumental in the planning, construction, and operation of the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center, and he oversaw the construction of the Palladium Athletic Facility. A coach and an administrator, Dr. Peckett was also beloved in the classroom as an assistant professor of politics.
Dr. Peckett, who will be honored posthumously, is one of five alumni who will be inducted into NYUs Athletics Hall of Fame on Sunday, May 15, at the Varsity Athletes Alumni Reception and Hall of Fame Induction.
