Nat and Estelle Schlossberg:
A Match Made at NYU

Nat (Steinhardt ’46) and Estelle (Steinhardt ’41) Schlossberg

On November 18, 2004, Nat (Steinhardt ’46) and Estelle (Steinhardt ’41) Schlossberg celebrated the 60th anniversary of a match made at NYU.

The two met in 1941 while taking a psychology class at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Though they courted seriously for a time, their romance was interrupted by the turmoil of WWII and Nat’s departure for military service in the Air Corps. Nat and Estelle were married during a military furlough in 1944.

Nat and Estelle have three children and six grandchildren. While they call New Jersey home, they spend winters in Florida, and make it a point to attend the NYU regional events in both locations.
