Students Need You!

Finding a career path can be one of the toughest challenges students face. You can help them find their way by sharing your expertise as a mentor. Current students need you today! NYU offers lots of ways for alumni mentors to get involved.

Alumni can join the Wasserman Center for Career Development’s Mentor Network Program, the NYU Alumni Association’s Links Program, or sign up with programs available at a number of NYU Schools. Catering to even the busiest alumni, these various mentoring programs are an easy way to stay connected to NYU in a personal and gratifying way without requiring a lot of time. The best part is, by signing up to be a mentor you can easily make a huge and direct impact on the life of an NYU student.

The Wasserman Center is currently recruiting alumni to address students’ large spectrum of career interests. Give students a leg up by helping them make good career decisions, develop their networking and interviewing skills, and much more.

You can choose your level of involvement. Mentoring options range from offering shadowing experiences, a day on the job, or career-related meetings that range from as little as 20 minutes to an hour. Participation ranges from one meeting with a student to developing long-term mentoring relationships. This program is adaptable to both student and mentor needs. Time commitment is determined by mentors who decide how they’d like to be contacted and how often.

If you’d like to reach out to a larger group of students, sign up for the NYUAA’s Links Program, where alumni can mentor a student club that could benefit from your personal experience. With over 400 student clubs and organizations for you to choose from, you can mentor student organizations that are interested in almost every conceivable topic.

Want to work with students from a specific program? NYU Schools and Colleges are also looking for alumni to join their individual mentoring programs.

No matter what your occupation, consider signing up to be a mentor to an NYU student. Being a mentor is not only fun, it’s also a genuinely rewarding experience for you and the student you are helping. Sign up today!
