Alumni Reunion Weekend Celebrates its 5th Year |

Alumni Reunion Weekend 2007 started with a bang last May with a multitude of exciting events, including the Wasserman Center’s Career Development Clinic, the 2nd Annual Alumni of Color Reception, and dinners at both the Bronfman and Islamic Centers. At these events, alumni from all schools mixed and mingled during festive celebrations while enjoying special film presentations and learning about how they could get involved in mentoring and outreach programs at the University. On Saturday, the party kept moving with Hot Topic seminars on issues like the history of the human rights movement and the impact of digitization on the music industry, which featured a spirited acoustic live performance by Chris Barron, lead singer of The Spin Doctors. Throughout the Weekend, alumni participated in a variety of guided walking tours through many of their old haunts, including Greenwich Village and SoHo. Also on Saturday, alumni received the chance to partake in a fabulous gourmet lunch while listening to presentations made by the deans, faculty, and students of their schools in the extremely popular Dine with Your Dean series. Hundreds of alumni topped off their busy Saturday with the fantastic Reunion Showcase gala dinner dance. There, alumni of all ages enjoyed cocktails with their classmates, then gathered in the ballroom for a scrumptious dinner, after which the fabulous sounds of The Stingers brought everyone to their feet to dance the night away. After such a fantastic Saturday night, Sunday brought even more exciting events, including additional walking tours through Gramercy Park, Chelsea and the Lower East Side. Eventually though, the weekend had to come to an end, and we would like to thank everyone who attended for making it such a special event. We’d also like to congratulate the classes of 1957 and 2002 for achieving the highest attendance record to date.
