The nominations have been reviewed and the winners selected! Join us as the New York University Alumni Association (NYUAA) proudly recognizes seven extraordinary alumni at the 2007 NYUAA Awards Dinner on November 8, 2007. NYU President John Sexton and NYUAA President Jonathan Herman (ARTS ’69, LAW ’73) invite all alumni to help honor the professional achievements, philanthropic contributions, and remarkable service to NYU that these seven honorees have displayed throughout the years.
The NYU Alumni Association Awards are extra special because the nominees are submitted by our alumni community. After parsing through all of the nominations, the NYUAA Awards committee, composed of representatives representing the broad spectrum of NYU schools, has chosen the following 2007 awards class:
Eugene J. Keogh Award for
Distinguished Public Service
Christopher H. Shays (STERN ’74, WAG ’78) United States congressman (R) from Connecticut
Alumni Meritorious Service Awards
Karen Siff-Exkorn (GAL ’96), author and consultant to Families Living with Autism and member of the Gallatin Dean’s Council on the Future of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study
Norma Z. Paige (WSC ’44, LAW ’46), chairman emeritus, Astronautics Corporation of America and an NYU School of Law Trustee

Allen S. Keller (MED ’88) founder and director of the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture

The Distinguished Alumnus/a Award is presented to honor those who embody the University’s motto to Persevere and Excel. The Alumni Meritorious Service Award is given to alumni who have demonstrated a lasting and profound commitment to NYU through the years. The Eugene J. Keogh Award is presented to individuals who have exhibited a deep commitment to public service.
In addition to the traditional honors, Kathleen Rosenberg will receive the Special Recognition for an NYUAA Past President Award in honor of her late husband Michael J. Rosenberg (STERN ’55) for his exceptional commitment and dedication to NYU.
