An NYU Legacy: Three Generations

Robin J. Sacks, above left, who graduated from TSOA in 1991 with honors in cinema studies and a double major in broadcast journalism, is continuing a family tradition. Her father, Stephen Sacks, above right, graduated from the School of Commerce in 1961, and her grandfather, Ralph M. Sacks, center above, graduated from the College of Arts and Science in 1926. The elder Mr. Sacks practiced law until the age of 88 and is now retired in Florida. He turns 95 on May 8. When Robin asked him what NYU was like back in the 1920s, he recalled the Main Building and remembered that tuition was only $12 a credit.
