JOIN the Brooklyn Artist Gym with an NYU discount
There are two ways to become involved with the Brooklyn Artists Gym:
- Artists-in-Residence: Artists interested in working in the studio in Brooklyn can join as Artists-In-Residence.
- Membership: All interested in supporting BAG and taking advantage of benefits are invited to join as a BAG member.
BAG ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE
The BAG Artist-In-Residence program provides artists with 24 hour studio access, 7 days a week, community to discuss and create work, opportunities to show and sell work, among other benefits. Call or email us to set up a tour of the studio space.
- Studio: 24/7 access to about 4000 square feet of open artist studio space.
- Lockers: Space in lockers for your art supplies.
- Drying racks: Large individualized drying racks for your artwork.
- Light: Terrific natural light and color-corrected daylight light fixtures.
- Equipment: Easels, tabourets, tables, stools, chairs and a large slop sink area.
- Critiques: BAG invites gallery owners, curators and critics to come give critiques of members work. This is available to members on a first-come-first-served sign up basis.
- Openings: AIRs are invited to all of the BAG Gallery openings.
- Rental discounts: AIRs can rent the gallery for their own show at a significant discount.
- Invitational shows: AIRs are invited to participate in a number of BAG curated shows with a waiver of the entry fee.
- Figure Drawing Sessions: On Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons BAG holds life drawing sessions. AIRs receive a discount. For the schedule and rates, click here.
- Workshop Discounts: Discounts at workshops and classes.
- Invitation-Only Events: Special entry to events.
- BAG Mailings: Email mailing-list notice of events and BAG Gallery shows.
- Art supplies on site: On-site access to reasonably priced art supplies at BAG through The Artful Place.
- Health insurance: Access to low cost health insurance through our relationship with Fractured Atlas.
Cost: Month-to-month, $220. Six-month commitment, $195 (auto pay only).
BAG MEMBERSHIP
Support BAG. Members enjoy discounts to workshops and classes, special entry to invitation-only events, and special notice of events and BAG Gallery shows. BAG Members enjoy the following benefits:
- Workshop Discounts: Discounts at workshops and classes and figure drawing.
- Invitation-Only Events: Special entry to events.
- BAG Mailings: Email mailing-list notice of events and BAG Gallery shows.
- Art supplies on site: Access to reasonably priced art supplies at BAG.
- Health insurance: Access to low cost health insurance through our relationship with Fractured Atlas.
Cost: $35.00 per year
You can sign up online, at BAG or via snail-mail. If you want to definitively reserve your place, you must include your first month fee.
