WELCOME MESSAGE FROM YAW NYARKO, NYU VICE
PROVOST OF GLOBALIZATION AND MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS
Welcome to the Africa House website, a home for a
number of exciting initiatives in African Studies at New York University.
I encourage you to visit this site frequently to
learn about upcoming events and to view updated information about our
projects. You will find a wide range of initiatives, from the social science
research of the Development
Research Institute to the cultural resources of the African
Heritage Archives and a forthcoming Medical and Public Policy
Research Initiative in our Ghana site.
Our site reveals an astonishing range of work being
done on and in Africa across the 14 schools of NYU. Our faculty includes
many of the leaders of the study of African history, economic development,
political economy, literature, film, and various other fields. Their work
daily generates new insight about Africa and the Diaspora.
To sign up for regular emails about events and activities,
you can email africa.house@nyu.edu. Please also contact us if you have
questions, requests or ideas for us. We want you to feel part of Africa
House and its many projects. I look forward to seeing you at our next
event.
Best Regards,
Yaw Nyarko, Vice Provost of Globalization and Multicultural
Affairs
