Class Advisors

The College of Arts and Science provides centralized advisement specifically for first- and second-year students who have not yet declared a major. The College also offers a number of programs, services, and activities designed especially for its freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

In addition to general academic advising at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, each incoming freshman class is assigned a dedicated class advisor who works with students in that group until graduation.

Advisement in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development is decentralized, and works best when both the student and the advisor are active participants in it. Students are assigned an academic advisor in their program / department, who ideally will be their advisor throughout their study.

Advising in the Stern Undergraduate School of Business is organized into two teams - one focusing on freshman and sophomores, the other on juniors and seniors.
