There are several additional specialized academic programs for high school students, not offered through NYU Precollege. Each one focuses on a particular academic area, with a course curriculum already designed for you. As with all Precollege programs, you have access to world-class professors and all of NYU's student resources.
The programs below are not offered through NYU Precollege, so there is a separate application process. Be sure to view the specific program websites to learn more about qualifications and how to apply.
School of Professional Studies High School Academy
The NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy is now offering weekend workshops in the spring. These workshops provide high school students with the leading edge they need for college admissions by enhancing their college portfolio and by improving critical skills sets?all while exploring a wide range of professional options.
The Tisch School of the Arts Residential Program
The residential program offers high school sophomores and juniors (rising juniors and seniors) professional training in acting, communication technology, dramatic writing, filmmaking, game design, musical theatre, photography and imaging, and recorded music. Students earn six college credits and live in New York City. We are currently accepting applications for Summer 2015.
Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts Professions Summer Programs
NYU Steinhardt offers a variety of residential noncredit summer workshops designed for high school students interested in Art, Music, and Theater to expand their skills and liberate their imaginations. Students stay in NYU housing with 24-hour security and spend their days in intensive, individualized classes.
Courant Institute Girls' Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Summer Program
The Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences offers a six-week high-level summer internship for motivated and accomplished high school girls. The Courant Institute Girls? Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Summer Program allows students to work on a project alongside researchers in mathematical and physical sciences.
Summer College Access Leadership Institute (NYU CALI)
NYU CALI is a 6-day program designed for high school students in underrepresented communities to learn more about college admissions, entrance test preparation, essay writing, interviewing skills, and financial aid. Program graduates will be certified College Access Ambassadors and will be required to act as mentors and advisers in their respective high schools by conducting their very own college application workshop.
