The third annual New York University College Access Leadership Institute (NYU CALI) is designed to demystify the often daunting college admissions process.
This five-day program will include workshops and small group sessions on a variety of topics:
- college admissions
- college entrance test preparation
- essay and resume writing
- interviewing and presentation skills
- financial aid literacy
Program graduates will be certified College Access Ambassadors and will be required to act as mentors and advisers in their respective high schools by conducting their very own college application workshop.
Successful applicants to the NYU CALI program come from underrepresented communities and are academically strong high school students from the New York metro/tri-state area. Successful applicants to the program also demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities within their schools and communities. If selected, students are awarded a full scholarship to the institute, and they are only expected to cover travel expenses to and from the NYU campus.
