Information Sessions and Campus Tours

We strongly recommend that all prospective students visit NYU, tour the New York campus, sit in on a class, and speak with faculty and students.

Interviews are not generally required for admission, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is not able to offer individual interviews, but group information sessions and campus tours are offered Monday through Friday, except during University holidays. We also offer information sessions and tours on most Saturdays in the fall. Admissions representatives conduct the information sessions, and are available at the end of each session to answer individual questions. Tours are led by NYU students who are Admissions Ambassadors.

All information sessions and campus tours begin and end at the Jeffrey S. Gould Welcome center, located at 50 West 4th Street (map). The Welcome Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on University holidays, and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (Please note that information sessions and tours are not generally available on Saturdays, except in the fall.) Due to space limitations, we are unable to store luggage or personal items during your campus visit.

Reservations are required for an information session and/or tour. To arrange a visit, use the On-Campus Information Session and Tours section of our online reservation system or telephone us at (212) 998-4524. Because of space limitations, we suggest that you contact us several weeks in advance of your intended visit. You may make your reservation up to 3 months ahead of time.

Transfer Students

If you are looking to apply to NYU as a transfer student and would like to visit our campus, we have designed special information sessions and tours just for you on select Fridays in March! An admissions counselor will lead your information session and will tell you all about NYU and the application process, with helpful details for transfer students. After the session, a current student will take you on a tour of our campus. Click here to sign up! (At the top of the calendar page, sort by your event type, "Transfer Info Session and Tour", to view the special transfer events in March.)

Group Tours

New York University offers campus tours to groups requesting to visit the university. Special group tours are offered Monday through Friday at 10:30am. To arrange your visit, please complete this form at least three weeks in advance.

Classroom Visits

Students are welcome to come and visit NYU classes during the academic year. Classroom visits are offered Monday through Thursday during the Fall and Spring semesters. If you are interested in sitting in on a class, visit the Jeffrey S. Gould Welcome Center, 50 West Fourth Street (map) for a list of classes that are open for visitation.
