At NYU Admissions, our goal is to connect exceptionally talented students with a best-fit university experience. We embrace this goal through a wide variety of initiatives, including our presence at college fairs, visits to high schools, participation in parent programs, events on-campus and across the world, and through communications efforts, both online and in print.
To facilitate our communications efforts, NYU Admissions participates in a process known throughout the higher education community as student search. Across the nation, colleges and universities partner with organizations such as the College Board and ACT to identify students who may be a good fit for the respective institution. NYU Admissions partners exclusively with the College Board (provider of the SAT) and ACT. When taking the SAT, PSAT, or ACT, students are offered the opportunity to opt-in to this program. For students who opt in, we then send a communications campaign consisting of two print marketing pieces, and up to six email marketing pieces, offering the student the opportunity to join our contact list. Students must have opted-in to participate.
At no point in this process is NYU able to determine a student's test score, academic profile, or data attributes not available on our Join our Contact List form. If a student wishes to stop receiving our communications, the student may request to do so at any time either by using the opt-out link on our email messages, or by following the instructions at right.
