Application Fee Information

Applicants to NYU are expected to pay a non-refundable application fee of $70.00 US dollars, which can be paid online by credit card. If you must submit a check or money order instead, please include your name, Common Application and/or NYU University ID number on your check or money order. Please make your check or money order payable to New York University and send to:

New York University
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
665 Broadway, Suite 1100
New York, NY 10012-2339

Note: Please do not send cash under any circumstances.

Students who feel that the application fee would be a financial hardship for their families may request a fee waiver. If you would like to do this, please check one of the fee waiver boxes on the Common Application and submit a "Request for Application Fee Waiver" form, signed by your guidance counselor. You can determine your eligibility for a waiver and obtain a form by visiting the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) website.

NYU also accepts fee waiver request forms available through the College Board and Expanding College Opportunities.

If you do not meet the eligibility guidelines outlined by the National Association of College Admission Counselors but would still like to be considered for a fee waiver, please submit your request in writing – with a one-paragraph explanation of how an application fee would present a financial hardship for your family – to the address above.

Students applying for a second bachelor's in Nursing:

Please follow the instructions at left to pay the $70 application fee by check or money order only (not by credit card). On the check or money order, please include your name and application number that you receive upon submission of your application.

Please note:

  • You must check one of the fee waiver request boxes on the Common Application to qualify for a fee waiver. We cannot provide a refund for any application fee you may have already paid.
  • You must mail your fee waiver request form or personal request letter after you submit the Common Application. We will be in touch with you if your request is not granted.
  • We are unable to grant application fee waivers to international students applying to NYU’s Washington Square campus in New York City.
