Eligibility Requirements

High school sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply to NYU Precollege. Applicants must be in good academic and disciplinary standing as demonstrated in their academic transcript and application.

High school students who participate in NYU Precollege demonstrate when they apply that they are ready for and committed to doing college-level work throughout the program. Admission is selective, and decisions are based on the strength of your high school academic work and your personal statement.

Current high school freshmen may consider one of the Steinhardt Art, Music, and Theater Summer Programs, depending on whether or not they meet the admissions criteria for their program of choice.

Current high school seniors who will graduate prior to the start of NYU Precollege should apply to Session 2 of NYU Summer in NYC.
