In response to COVID-19 and in alignment with our obligation to safeguard public health, all NYU summer 2020 courses and programs being offered will be conducted remotely.
Please refer to this page for information and updates related to 2020 summer non-degree programs, including the NYU Visiting Student program and NYU's High School and Middle School Programs.
Students who have applied to and/or enrolled in summer programs will be provided updates specific to their programs via email. Information regarding technological requirements and other details related to programs shifting to remote instruction will be forthcoming.
If you have started but not yet submitted your application, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to withdraw your application.
If you have submitted your application already, please log into your applicant portal with your NetID and password and complete the form linked under the “Application Withdrawal Form” section. If you have not yet activated your NetID, please refer to the email that you received with the subject line “Your NYU ID Numbers and Status Page” for instructions.
Yes, you will be refunded. For more more information about the refund process and schedule, contact the program directly.
If you applied for housing, your reservation has been cancelled. If you've paid the housing reservation payment, you will be refunded this amount in full. If you have charges on your NYU account balance, this credit may be applied towards this balance.
You will receive an email from NYU Housing confirming the cancellation of your housing application.
If you are in the Visiting Students program, the summer housing office will be in contact about your reservation. For more questions, please contact email@example.com.
Note: International students are now welcome to apply up until the final deadline listed on a program's application. Please note that international students may participate remotely.
Due to summer classes at NYU moving to exclusively online instruction, summer-only programs are no longer eligible for F-1 and J-1 student visa sponsorship.
The Office of Global Services (OGS) will be cancelling all I-20s and DS-2019s that have been issued for Summer 2020 visiting students. If you have already been issued an I-20 or DS-2019 from NYU, please note that your F-1 or J-1 record will be cancelled and the document you received is not valid for entry into the United States.
If you have an I-20 or DS-2019 application currently pending with OGS, your application will be closed with no further action necessary from you. Any student who previously indicated that they require F-1 or J-1 sponsorship should not submit a new application for an I-20 or DS-2019 for Summer 2020. If you have any further immigration-related questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Yes, you can still participate in your summer program. Students admitted after May 12 will be billed on a rolling basis. Students are not charged for their summer course or program until after they are admitted and registered. Your summer bill will be generated within 24-48 hours after registration. Then, the NYU Bursar Office gives you 5-7 business days to pay your balance. Information about how to pay your bill can be found on the NYU Bursar website.
We anticipate, and have experienced, disruptions in students being able to send us transcripts now that most schools are working remotely or closed. NYU will accept unofficial or official transcripts from applicants to complete.
Transcripts can be uploaded directly to the application on the Academic History page, uploaded after submission through the applicant portal, or emailed to email@example.com.

We recommend checking the program website for up-to-date information about application timelines.

Program eligibility will be updated on each program's website and application instructions. We recommend students reach out to their program of interest to see if there have been any changes to program participation.
