Returning Students

Graduate students with scholarship to renew should refer to their school for filing deadline requirements. All graduate students who successfully file a FAFSA will be reviewed for federal financial aid eligibility.

New York: Returning Undergraduate Students

The following applications are required for all returning undergraduate students who have NYU Scholarship to renew and those without NYU Scholarship to renew who are applying to appeal for scholarship consideration1.

1 APPEAL FOR RETURNING UNDERGRADUATES:
In addition to filing the application listed above, students who would like to be reviewed for appeal scholarship must complete the ‘Appeal for Returning Undergraduate Students’ online form, available on the NYU Office of Financial Aid website in May for fall term consideration and in November for spring term consideration.

2 STUDENTS WITH DIVORCED, SEPARATED, OR UNMARRIED PARENTS:
The CSS Profile for the noncustodial parent is not required for returning students.

3 RECOMMENDED FILING DATE:
We suggest that all students file by the recommended filing date in order to ensure that their financial aid package will be ready in advance of the Bursar bill. Students who are submitting the ‘Appeal for Returning Undergraduate Students’ need to file by the recommended filing date so that their application will be available for appeal consideration. All eligible students will be reviewed for federal aid upon successful submission of the FAFSA using NYU’s school code (002785).

Shanghai: Returning Undergraduate Students

The following applications are required for all returning undergraduate students who have NYU Scholarship to renew and those without NYU Scholarship to renew who are applying to appeal for scholarship consideration1. 4 CHINESE NATIONAL STUDENTS:
The CSS Profile is not required every year for Chinese Nationals at NYU Shanghai who took the Gaokao College Entrance Examination. Abu Dhabi: Returning Undergraduate Students

1 CHANGES IN FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
If you have had a change in your financial circumstances, please contact the Office of Financial Support at nyuad.financial.support@nyu.edu.

2 STUDENTS WITH DIVORCED, SEPARATED, OR UNMARRIED PARENTS:
The CSS Profile for the noncustodial parent is required of all students applying for financial support for the first time. Returning students who are renewing their financial support do not need to have their noncustodial parent file in subsequent years.

3 RECOMMENDED FILING DATE:
