Congratulations on being admitted!
In order to make sure you are ready for your first day of class please follow these steps:
Use the fall course search on the Fall in NY website to select courses. Make note of the 4-digit class number which you will use to enroll in the course. Log into your Albert Student Center to register. Helpful guides on how to register in Albert are on the NYU Registrar website here. The registration requirements are:
- International students with an NYU visa must register in at least 12 units/credits total.
- The maximum amount of units/credits a student can take each semester is 18.
If you are blocked from registering for a course due a prerequisite or course requirement, please submit an Enrollment Request Form. You must be logged into your NYU email to access the form. You can contact your academic advisors with course and registration questions at email@example.com. Please include your full name and NYU ID Number (your N number) in all communications.
Space in NYU’s residence halls is extremely limited for Fall 2017, and it is highly unlikely that we will be able to offer visiting students on campus accommodations. All students should prepare to live off-campus in case university housing is not available. For information and resources regarding off-campus housing, please see the Off-Campus Living website.
Visiting students are welcome to take advantage of NYU’s on campus dining options and meal plans. For more details, please visit the Dining on Campus page.
Once you are registered for your courses, you will be required to pay your bill. Notification regarding your tuition bill will be sent to your NYU e-mail address.
You can access and pay your bill via Albert 24 hours a day.
- Log in to your NYUHome account.
- Open Albert.
- Enter your student center.
- Click on ‘View Bursar Account’ (bottom right hand corner under ‘Finances’).
- Follow the instructions to make a payment.
Our preferred method of payment is by electronic check. There is no additional fee for this safe and secure service. If you are unable to pay using an electronic check, please select one of our other methods of payment.
If you would like to add a parent to your eSuite account, follow the directions found here. Account activity can be viewed by signing into eSuite and clicking on 'View Activity' under the 'My Account' tab.
The NYUCard is a multipurpose identification card issued to all registered students. For security purposes, all students are required to have their NYUCard in their possession at all times.
Simply submit a photo online and, once approved by the NYUCard Center, you can pick up your card in person. The NYUCard Center is at 7 Washington Place. You must bring a valid photo ID with you to get your card. Photos submitted and approved by 3:00 p.m. can be picked up the following business day. More information about submitting your NYUCard photo and information is available online.
Students are asked to turn in their NYU ID Card at the end of their term of study (it will be deactivated at that time). If a student doesn’t return their ID card and returns for ANY future term he/she must produce their original card or pay a $25 replacement fee.
To help you get the most out of your fall experience at NYU, we highly encourage you to view the Fall in New York Online Orientation. In this self-paced interactive video, learn about academic advising, housing, dining, and all the resources available to you as an NYU visiting student. We'll also cover important procedures, dates and deadlines, and highlight the items you'll need to complete prior to the start of class.
All Fall in New York students must attend a check-in session before classes begin or on the first day of class. At check-in, we will cover the information you need to know to have a successful semester at NYU, you will have a chance to ask any questions you have about the University or city, and you will meet your fellow Fall in New York students.
Fall in New York 2016 Check-in Sessions:
- Dates and times will be available in August.
Students must RSVP online for a check-in session. Attendance is mandatory. Please note: You must be logged in to your NYUHome account in order to access the RSVP form.
International Students: All international students must submit their immigration documents to the Office of Global Services online and attend an in-person orientation. Please refer to the Office of Global Services webpage for more information.
Your academic advisors at NYU will post regular reminders, updates, and information on the Visiting Student Blog, so all admitted students have the information they need to be prepared for their semester. Subscribe to the blog to receive all new information via email, and if you have any questions, you can reach your advisors at firstname.lastname@example.org.
