- be less than 31 years of age
- be a "Green Card" holder, a naturalized citizen, or a citizen whose parents were both born abroad
- be a current senior or not yet beyond the 2nd year of graduate/professional school at time of application
- demonstrate sustained accomplishments that show creativity, originality, and initiative
NB: The October 1 campus deadline is a courtesy deadline for applicants who wish to receive advisement on their Soros applications. Nomination is technically not required, although the high level of competition here makes advisement useful.
