New & Noteworthy

SSLD in Washington DC

From October 24th - 26th, over 20 graduate students of color participated in a leadership retreat at NYU DC's fantastic facilities to discuss how to strengthen their leadership skills, improve their self-awareness, and channel their passions into impactful careers. While in DC, they had a chance to network with NYU alumni and hear from social sector leaders, such as former White House Domestic Adviser Melody Barnes and MLT CEO John Rice, about how to leverage their skills to address pressing social problems. The students are part of the initial cohort for the Social Sector Leadership Diversity Fellowship, which provides committed graduate students of color with the tools and skills needed to become leadership in organizations through the social sector.
