Day 1 Expos are designed to showcase NYU’s promising research and innovation. Through a series of Life Science & Information Technology Expos, NYU seeks to generate interest in and excitement from the entrepreneurial and venture capital ecosystems, identify new opportunities for commercialization, and open doors for entrepreneurial matchmaking, connect NYU entrepreneurs with potential investors and business partners, and identify potential licensing and joint venture opportunities.
The goal of Day 1 is to explore opportunities for commercialization and further development for NYU research within the New York City entrepreneurial ecosystem. The inaugural event was held on November 29, 2010 to celebrate NYU’s information technology (IT) innovations and create opportunities for commercialization. Since then we have had four Expos (3 Life Science & 1 Tech).
Our latest Life Science Expo was held in the Fall of 2013 focusing on NYU’s medical and life science research and innovations spanning therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, biomaterials, healthcare IT and bioinformatics. The event was attended by more than 100 guests and featured a wide range of research with commercial potential. You can find a list of teams that participated below.
More than 15 life science research projects were featured at the 2013 Life Sciences Expo.
