Administrative & professional (codes 100/110) employees may receive salary increases for:
- assuming temporary responsibility for a higher level vacancy for an extended period at the specific request of the department head
- assuming responsibility for a special project that is clearly outside the scope of the employee’s regular job responsibilities and is a significant additional work assignment
The Compensation Office must approve temporary salary increases before the duties are assigned to the employee. No commitments to employees may be made before approval. The Compensation Office does not approve temporary salary adjustments for more than six months. Per the collective bargaining agreement office/clerical (codes 106/116) and laboratory/technical (codes 104/114) employees must receive a temporary increase under the following conditions:
- the employee's supervisor specifically asks the employee to perform a higher-level bargaining unit job; and,
- the employee performs this higher-level job for at least 10 work days.
