Bands and Market Reference Ranges

Administrator and Professional jobs and non-exempt, non-union Office and Clerical jobs are further classified into bands. The band assigned to a job depends on its level of complexity and responsibility relative to other jobs at the University. Each band has corresponding market reference ranges. There are six bands for administrator and professional positions  and non-exempt, non-union Office and Clerical positions. To learn more, see NYU Bands.

NYU no longer provides market reference ranges that apply to all positions in a specific band level because hiring salaries are based on a number of factors, such as a candidate's background and experience as well as the budget allocated for a position. Candidates should provide their salary requirements in their cover letter.

Employees in Local 3882, Local 1, and Local 810 should refer to the appropriate contract.
