The Blackboard Liaison Program

November 24, 2009

As part of the NYU Blackboard upgrade during the summer and fall of 2008, ITS embarked on an effort to reach out to University, school, and departmental administrators and staff who are in need of specialized NYU Blackboard support. This became the Blackboard Liaison Program, which now boasts 80 participants from around the University.

Members of the Blackboard Liaison Program participate in specialized training, which is offered in a small group setting to provide a more informal and personal experience, and are given access to videos and supplemental training materials designed to enhance current NYU Blackboard support resources. Additionally, members are provided with direct access to Blackboard subject specialists for additional help with course management and delivery of course materials. At the start of every semester, we recognize our participants by sending letters of participation to all NYU deans and CIOs.

This Blackboard Liaison training allows participants to assume a unique support role for faculty and students who use the system. By reaching out to administrators on the "front lines,” the program enables the Liaisons to educate and assist their departments with any NYU Blackboard questions or needs they might have.

If you are an NYU school or departmental administrator who is interested in participating, or if you have questions about the program, please contact ITS at AskITS@nyu.edu.
