NYU Primate biologists in the Department of Anthropology discover the inspiration for the Dr. Seuss Lorax character and his beloved Truffula trees.  Through the use of facial recognition software, the researchers created a multidimensional map of primates in Central Africa.  They believe the Lorax was inspired by the Patas monkey and the whistling acacia trees it relies upon for food.
