New York University and Manhattan Community Board 2 will host the annual Children's Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village, which includes a march through Washington Square Park, face-painting, rides, and live entertainment from Shira & Friends and FogoAzul, an all-women Brazilian Samba Reggae drum line.
WHAT: New York University and Manhattan Community Board 2 will host thousands of ghost, ghouls, and goblins (also known as kids, moms, and dads) at the 27th Annual Children’s Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village. Children and families will march around Washington Square Park led by FogoAzul and the Grand Marshals. Following the parade, the children will be treated to candy, face-painting, rides, and live entertainment, including Shira & Friends and DJ Ben the Beyonder.
The Grand Marshals for the parade have been selected for their commitment and service to the Greenwich Village community: Terri Cude, Chair of Manhattan Community Board 2, Anne Hearn, Co-President of the Washington Square Village Tenants Association, William Kelley, Executive Director of the Village Alliance, Captain Robert O’Hare, NYC Police Department, 6th Precinct, and George Vellonakis, Washington Square Park Administrator.
WHEN: Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Marchers will gather at 3:00 pm at the fountain in Washington Square Park and the parade will start at 3:30 pm.
WHERE: The parade will assemble at the fountain in Washington Square Park, and will end at West 3rd Street between Mercer Street and LaGuardia Place where various activities will await children and families.

The parade provides very good, cute, daylight shots of kids in costumes parading around the park accompanied by parents. Good complement for coverage of the adult parade.
NYU students – including NYU dancers – will perform and assist with distributing treats.
