New York University will host authors Zadie Smith and Jeffrey Eugenides for a conversation on their lives in publishing on Thurs., March 31, 6 p.m. at its Washington, DC Academic Center (Abramson Family Auditorium, 1307 L St., NW).

The event will be live-streamed beginning at 7 p.m. EDT.

Smith, a senior faculty member in the NYU Creative Writing Program, has authored White Teeth, winner of the Whitbread First Novel Award, the Guardian First Book Award, the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction, and the Commonwealth Writers’ First Book Award. Her other novels include: The Autograph Man, On Beauty, and NW.

Eugenides’ novels include The Virgin Suicides, Middlesex, which received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and The Marriage Plot. He is a professor of creative writing at Princeton University.

The event, part of NYU Washington’s Salon Series: Conversations with Writers & Artists, will be moderated by Keli Goff, a multi-platform journalist and fiction writer best known for documenting the intersections of politics, pop culture, race, and gender in America. Currently a columnist for the Daily Beast, Goff, an alumna of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, has written for Time, Cosmopolitan, and Essence as well as the web editions of the New York Times, the Guardian, the Atlantic, Elle magazine, and New York Magazine, among other outlets.
