Steinhardt’s Neuman Named American Educational Research Association Fellow

Susan Neuman, chair of the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development’s Department of Teaching and Learning, was named a fellow of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). AERA Fellows “are selected based on their notable and sustained research achievements,” the association said in its announcement.

“We are pleased to honor these individuals for their significant contributions to education research and to the advancement of the field,” said AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine. “AERA Fellows exemplify the best of research in terms of accomplishment, quality, mentoring, and the highest professional standards.” 

Neuman is an expert in early literacy development whose research and teaching interests include early childhood policy, curriculum, and early reading instruction for children who live in poverty.
