Kimberly Glassman, PhD, RN, has been named Associate Dean for Partnership Innovation at the New York University College of Nursing (NYUCN). Dr. Glassman is currently the Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at NYU Langone Medical Center (NYULMC).
In this new role, Dr. Glassman will provide vision and leadership for the integration of practice, clinical research, scholarship and education, as well as health system matters for NYUCN. The role also supports and strengthens the partnership between NYUCN and NYULMC.
“Dr. Glassman, with her vast clinical and research experience, is uniquely qualified to develop creative and innovative integration of nursing student education across all programs within the practice environment at both NYUCN and NYULMC,” said Eileen M. Sullivan-Marx, PhD, RN, FAAN, NYUCN Dean and Erline Perkins McGriff Professor of Nursing. “This new synergy will provide opportunities to inform the College of Nursing regarding best practices in practice and integration of relevant competences in the nursing curriculum.”
In this new role, Dr. Glassman will also be a member of the College of Nursing’s Dean’s Leadership Coordinating Council, the College of Nursing –Dentistry Executive Management Committee as well as the Dean’s Innovation Advisory Group.

About Dr. Glassman
Dr. Glassman joined the Medical Center in 1978 as a senior staff nurse in critical care, and has held many leadership positions in nursing over her career at the medical center. Additionally, Dr. Glassman serves as the Chair, for the NYU College of Nursing Board of Advisors and has held an adjunct faculty appointment at the College of Nursing since 2007.
Dr. Glassman has conducted research on the patient experience, and written chapters for textbooks and peer-reviewed journal articles. She is a reviewer for several journals, including Applied Nursing Research, Nursing Economics and Qualitative Health Research. Dr. Glassman is a 2008 graduate of the Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives at the University of Pennsylvania, a 2011 Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellow, and a Fellow in the New York Academy of Medicine. She recently was elected as president of the Greater New York –Nassau-Suffolk Organization of Nurse Executives.
She received her RN diploma from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, and her BS in Nursing from Hunter College. She holds a masters degree in nursing administration and a doctorate in theory and research development from the NYU College of Nursing.
