Steinhardt Prepares Local Teachers to Tackle the Multicultural Classroom at 2013 "Guardians of Equity" Summer Institute, July 6

EVENT:   From understanding the LGBT student and teaching English Language Learners (ELLs), to Hip-Hop coursework and making Common Core culturally relevant, NYU Steinhardt’s Metro Center for Urban Education (Metro Center) works to strengthen and improve access, opportunity, and the quality of education for diverse learners across the nation.

This summer, the Center’s Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality (TACD), will host its 2013 institute “Guardians of Equity: Creating Fair Systems to Achieve Equitable Outcomes.” The day-long event seeks to prepare local K-12 educators to practice cultural awareness in today’s multicultural classroom.
