La Maison Française at NYU Enriches April with Free Events About Art, History, and Literature

The arrival of April augurs a colorful flowering of diverse cultural events and erudite discussions at La Maison Française of New York University, located at 16 Washington Mews (at University Place), New York, N.Y.

Listen to a panel discussion (April 4) on the medieval poet François Villon, who found his muse in the streets, taverns, and bordellos of Paris. Or take in an exhibition, April 12 to May 31, entitled “Pears, Pastimes, and People: Caricatures by Daumier and His Contemporaries.” These and other April events will be held at La Maison Française and are free of charge -- except when otherwise noted. Father Desbois has led a historic effort to locate graves of Jews and Roma killed during the Holocaust, identifying 2,000 mass graves and 800 extermination sites. He has recorded interviews with 2,500 elderly eyewitnesses, and will show excerpts of his filmed interviews.
