10th Annual Financial Fitness Workshop at NYU-SCPS, Sept. 29


New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), Division of Programs in Business, in conjunction with the Financial Planning Association of New York will host the 10th Annual Financial Fitness Workshop to kick-off this year’s National Financial Planning Week in New York. The workshop will take place on Saturday, September 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at NYU’s School of Law, Vanderbilt Hall, 40 Washington Square South.

Event to Kick Off National Financial Planning Week in NYC

 

New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), Division of Programs in Business, in conjunction with the Financial Planning Association of New York will host the 10th Annual Financial Fitness Workshop to kick-off this year’s National Financial Planning Week in New York.  The workshop will take place on Saturday, September 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at NYU’s School of Law, Vanderbilt Hall, 40 Washington Square South.

In addition to insights and personal financial strategies from Certified Financial Planners and attorneys, the workshop will feature a keynote address by Nick Murray, author of Simple Wealth, Inevitable Wealth who will explain how “Everything You Think You Know About Risk Is Wrong”©. The morning speaker, Joseph W. Jordan, author of Living a Life of Significance will address “Dealing with Change.”

The one-day event will provide attendees with the insight to make informed financial decisions and the know-how to be financially successful.  Four sets of sessions on topics for those with varying levels of expertise will be provided throughout the day.  Topics include:

•Creating a Financial Plan: Step By Step Guide
•Constructing Your Investment Portfolio
•How to Save More, Spend Less…And Still Live Well
•Retirement Primer: 401(K), Ira, Roth, 403(B)
•Mutual Funds & Etfs: Need To Know Basics
•Credit Scores & Repair And Identity Theft: Keeping Safe
•Wills, Heathcare Proxies & Trusts: Who Needs What
•Maximizing Social Security Benefits

The workshop is open to the public.  Tickets are for $40; NYU students, faculty, and staff
