NYU Steinhardt Presents Renowned Pianist Alexander Kobrin, Oct. 24


The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development’s Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions welcomes Russian pianist Alexander Kobrin. Kobrin will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Frederick Loewe Theatre.

The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development’s Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions welcomes Russian pianist Alexander Kobrin. Kobrin will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Frederick Loewe Theatre, located at 35 W. 4th St. at Greene St. Subways: N, R (8th St.), 6 (Astor Pl.).

Kobrin’s program will consist of Beethoven’s "Pastorale" Sonata, Op. 28, Brahms’ "Variations on a Theme by R. Schumann,” and R. Schumann “Sonata No. 1”.

"Alexander Kobrin is a remarkable artist who plays with poetry and flawless technique. It is an honor to be able to feature a pianist of his caliber on our stage,” said Marilyn Nonken, professor of music and music education. “I am thrilled to welcome him to the artist faculty at Steinhardt. As a young, yet highlyseasoned musician, our students will truly benefit from his expertise.”

Kobrin comes to NYU Steinhardt from the Schwob School of Music of Columbus State University.
