NYU Steinhardt’s new interview series, "Inside the Internet Garage," featuring personal reflections on the first 20 years of internet history from some of the internet’s leading personalities, will launch on April 24. The series welcomes tech industry innovators, leaders, and visionaries to converse in front of a live studio audience.
Tech veterans Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg, co-founders of AllThingsD and technology reporters for the Wall Street Journal, will be the first guests on Tuesday, April 24 at the Courant Institute located at 251 Mercer St. at 7:30 p.m. Adjunct professor Aaron Cohen, the former CEO of Menupages and founding director of INC@NYU, will interview the duo about their careers as chroniclers of the ever-evolving tech, media, and information age.
“Kara and Walt have covered digital media from infancy to its position as the fastest growing industry in the world,” said Cohen. “They are the perfect guests to inaugurate our new interview series Inside the Internet Garage.”
The series forms part of the new NYU Steinhardt Initiative for Internet and Network Culture (INC@NYU), housed within the school’s Department of Media, Culture, and Communication. Through industry-university partnerships it will serve as a nexus for scholars, entrepreneurs, and media analysts interested in the technologies, business practices, and social processes of internet and network culture.
