NYU Grad Film Student Isabella Wing-Davey is Winner of Media Services Production Fund Award for Producing Students

March 31, 2012

The Tisch School of the Arts at New York University has announced that Isabella Wing-Davey, a third-year student in the Graduate Film Division of the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, has been named the winner of the 2012 Robert Oberman and Gregory Pickert Media Services Graduate Film Production Fund Award.  The Fund, established with a grant from Media Services, a leading payroll, accounting, and software provider for the entertainment industry, has annually made cash awards to one directing student but will now single out one third-year student for outstanding producing work instead.

Wing-Davey was selected from a strong group of producer applicants who are well positioned to launch successful careers after impressive work in the program.   “We want to thank Media Services for its extraordinarily generous grant, which will help more students pursue careers in producing,” said John Tintori, chair of Graduate Film.  “I cannot express how much this means to our students.  I would also like to extend congratulations on behalf of the entire Graduate Film program to Isabella Wing-Davey on her win.”

"One of the things I've really valued about being in this program has been the opportunity to develop a multitude of skills,” said Wing-Davey.  “From the development, production, and financing of a project to the sales/distribution, festival planning, and packaging of a film the knowledge I have gained has been invaluable.”

Wing-Davey will use her $5,000 award to further the feature film projects she is currently working on, including a Chilean/European co-production with fellow student Omar Zuniga Hildago; and Flood, a feature film she is developing with writer/director Katy Scoggin, which has already received a Sundance/Sloan Commissioning grant.
