NYU Steinhardt Hosts Open Screening of the Film “The Turkish Passport,” March 26

The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development will host a screening of the award-winning documentary film, The Turkish Passport, on Monday, March 26 at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium located at 60 Washington Square South, 4th floor. Subways: A,B,C,D,E,F,M (W. 4th St.); N, R (8th St.-NYU); 6 (Astor Place). Reservations are encouraged and space is limited:

The Turkish Passport tells the story of diplomats posted to Turkish embassies and consulates in several European countries, who saved numerous Jewish people during the Holocaust. The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.

NYU Steinhardt has organized the New York premiere of The Turkish Passport in collaboration with Bahcesehir University of Istanbul, one of the partners in the production of the film.

Opening remarks will be made by Mary Brabeck, dean of NYU Steinhardt; producer Gunes Celikcan; Enver Yucel, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahcesehir University and NYU Steinhardt Dean’s Council member; and Ertugrul Apakan, ambassador and permanent representative of Turkey to the United Nations. A delegation from Turkey will travel to the city to attend the screening.
