NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions Presents "Street Scene," March 7-8

The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development’s Program in Vocal Performance will perform Street Scene, a lively production based on Elmer Rice’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Street Scene tells the story of the ordinary romances, gossip, and quarrels of an East Side tenement. Directed by Steinhardt’s own William Wesbrooks, with Grant Wenaus as music director this American Opera features music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Langston Hughes and Elmer Rice, and book by Elmer Rice. The cast and orchestra will feature undergraduate and graduate students from the NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions.

The production will run at NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place. Subway lines: A, B, C, D, E, F, M (W. 4th St.), 1 (Christopher St.), N, R (8th St.), 6 (Astor Place), 6 (Bleecker St.). Tickets are $20 general admission and $5 for students/senior citizens.
