Urban Policy Students Explore China’s Massive Urbanization in Shanghai Summer Program

Zhan Guo, an assistant professor of urban planning and transportation policy at NYU Wagner, has completed the second summer course in Shanghai, exposing 19 students from around the country to China's vast, unparalleled transition from a centrally controlled economy to a market oriented economy. The course is to be offered annually.

Mortgage lending to low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers in U.S. metro areas increased sharply in 2009, even as overall home purchase lending continued to sink in the wake of the foreclosure crisis, according to a new study by NYU’s Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.

NYU-SCPS Report: Corporate Hotel Rate Negotiations for 2011 – Preliminary Outlook

Most corporate and contract rates are negotiated during September through December, but based upon preliminary discussions, it is clear that there are very different buyer and seller expectations. Corporate and contract rates represent almost 20 percent of occupied room nights and almost 30 percent of U.S. lodging industry revenue. The difference between buyer and seller expectations for corporate and contract rates for 2012 is as far apart as ever before – even more than last year.
