NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House Hosts Special Events in March


Glucksman Ireland House at New York University, located at One Washington Mews (at Fifth Avenue), will host several special events in March. Admission is free to members of Ireland House and those with an NYU ID; for all others, $10 admission to regular events and $15 for Blarney Star Concert Series events. Thurs., March 4, 7 p.m.

            Gerard Moran, National University of Ireland, Galway, discusses Irish evictions and assisted emigration to America in the 19th century.

Sat., March. 6, 1– 5 p.m.

            Lá Gaeilge: Irish Language Day: join Padraig Ó Cearúill for a day of learning conversational Irish through sessions on vocabulary and pronunciation and creative group activities.

Thurs., March 11, 7 p.m.

            Irish Times columnist and critic Fintan O’Toole discusses his new book, Ship of Fools: How Corruption and Stupidity Sank the Celtic Tiger.
