COLORS restaurant is a worker-owned cooperative founded by employees of Windows on the World, the sky-high World Trade Center restaurant destroyed on September 11, 2001. COLORS believes in “ethical eating,” and is committed to true sustainability through improving working conditions for restaurant workers, educating and empowering workers and local sourcing and green practices.
Now, the downtown restaurant has opened a café – its first ever — situating it at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University. The new café opened for business Tuesday, November 9. NYU Wagner is proud to welcome the new COLORS café to the 2nd Floor of the Puck Building at 295 Lafayette Street (corner of Houston Street) as a partner in promoting sustainability and socially responsible business practices.
COLORS café welcomes students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Any and all are encouraged to experience the café’s enticing international menu of breakfast, lunch and snack food inspired by the parent restaurant at 417 Lafayette Street, near The Public Theatre.
