In recent years the streets of New York City have been transformed by the Department of Transportation. Changes to the streetscape have had an effect on the real estate market, though the full impact is not yet fully understood.

New York City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan and real estate developer Douglas Durst will consider the relationship between transportation policy and the real estate and development sector at a breakfast forum Wednesday, September 29, from 8:30 a.m.-to-10:30 a.m.

The free, public discussion will take place the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and led by Vicki Been, the Boxer Family Professor of Law at New York University, a professor of public Policy at Wagner, and the faculty director of the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy. Wagner is located in the Puck Building, 295 Lafayette Street (at Houston Street, 2nd Floor, lower Manhattan.

The event leads off the 2010-11 “Thinking and Doing” breakfast series organized by Wagner’s Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management. The series pairs New York area leaders and practitioners with top academic thinkers to discuss challenging transportation topics in an effort to bridge theory and practice.
