New York University’s Taub Center for Israel Studies will present “Israel-India Relations,” a lecture by P.R. Kumaraswamy, on Thursday, September 16, 6 p.m. at NYU’s Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life, 7 East 10th Street, 5th floor (between 5th Avenue and University Place). The lecture is free and open to the public. An RSVP is required: call 212.998.8981 or email fas.taubcenter@nyu.edu. Subways: L, N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6 (Union Square).

Kumaraswamy, a professor of contemporary Middle Eastern history at New Dehli’s Jawaharal Nehru University, has written extensively on the political relationship between the East and Middle East. His most recent book, India’s Israel Policy: From Non-Relations to Friendship, was published by the Columbia University Press this year.

Reporters interested in attending must RSVP to James Devitt, NYU’s Office of Public Affairs, at 212.998.6808 or james.devitt@nyu.edu.

The Taub Center was established with a gift from the Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation. The gift supports an endowed professorship and two graduate fellowships in Israel Studies, and funds lectures, seminars, scholarly colloquia at the Center, and other special programs for students, faculty, and the community. In addition to offering its own programming, the Taub Center works closely with NYU’s departments to create cross-disciplinary programming, serving to broaden NYU’s offerings in Judaic and Middle Eastern studies.
