NYU College of Nursing Receives $300,000 Grant

New York University's College of Nursing announced that it has a received a profoundly generous grant of $300,000 from the Brookdale Foundation to support scholarships for geriatric nurse practitioners who seek to enroll in the College’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program. The DNP program, introduced in the spring of 2010, prepares advanced-practice nurses to become leaders in clinical care and in academia.

Researchers have found that a powerful carcinogen in tobacco smoke can be used for oral cancer research in experimental animals, thus providing a new, more relevant research model with which to understand the initiation, progression, and, ultimately, the prevention of oral cancer.

Dr. Donna Shalala Presents Keynote Address at the NYU College of Nursing 2010 Graduation

On Monday May 10, 2010 at 11am, 455 students will graduate from The New York University College of Nursing at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street). Dr. Donna Shalala, President of the University of Miami and former Secretary of Health and Human Services, will address the graduating class and receive the Helen Manzer Award for her exemplary leadership for the health of the nation.
