Antonio Muñoz Molina, renowned Spanish novelist and author of the acclaimed novels Sepharad and Manuscript of Ashes, has been named King Juan Carlos I of Spain Chair in Spanish American Culture and Civilization at New York University. On Tuesday, February 9 at 7 p.m., Muñoz Molina will present On the Experience of Fiction, an overview of his ideas about the fiction novel.
On Tuesday, April 13 at 7 p.m., he will present a public lecture, Spain, circa 1977: Learning to Write Novels While Exploring Freedom, in which he recounts his development as a writer during the arrival of democracy in Spain.
In addition, Muñoz Molina will organize three roundtable discussions in late April (dates to be announced), entitled Spain: The Future after the Future, an effort to depict contemporary Spain today.
