N-144, 2009-10

The Islamic Center at NYU and various other clubs and campus organizations will host a teach-in to create a united voice against intolerance on Tuesday, November 17, 12:30 p.m. at NYU’s Kimmel Center for University Life.

NYU Chaplain Khalid Latif said, “Hate affects people of every race, religion, ethnicity and sexual orientation – so students and faculty will stand (and learn) in solidarity to work for harmony at NYU.”

Professors, students and other community leaders will lead the teach-in with stories and lessons in the fight for tolerance. The event will also include a cappella and spoken word performances by student groups. In remembrance of the recent tragedy at Fort Hood, the event will end with a moment of silence for the victims.
