NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate s 41st Annual Conference On Capital Markets in Real Estate Will Address Current Market Turmoil, Nov. 13


“Creating Opportunities from the Chaos of the Credit Crunch: A Practitioner’s Guide”

The current worldwide credit crunch and ongoing U.S. sub-prime mortgage crisis will be among the topics addressed at the upcoming 41st Annual Capital Markets in Real Estate Conference, Thursday, November 13, 2008, at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, NYC, sponsored by the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

This year’s conference, “Creating Opportunities from the Chaos of the Credit Crunch: A Practitioner’s Guide,” is focused on the world-wide credit crisis with the dislocation of the capital markets and the drastic effects this is having on commercial real estate. Investment sales are down by more than 50% and the financing market is barely visible. Industry leaders and veterans come together on November 13, 2008 in NYC to provide insight on the current state of the market.

Laurence D. Fink, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, BlackRock, Inc., will speak to the “challenges facing the economy and policy makers in 2008” in the conference’s opening keynote address. Other speakers include economists, bankers, financiers and other principal real estate organizations and leaders such as: Robert S. Blumenthal, managing director, Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc.; Paul A. Galiano, senior managing director, co-head of Acquisition, Tishman Speyer; Stuart M.
