Hans Blix, who headed the United Nations’ Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) for Iraq from 2000 to 2003, will deliver a public lecture-“Time for a Revival of Disarmament?”-on Wed., April 9, 6:30 p.m., at New York University (19 W. 4th St., at Mercer St.). Blix, who currently chairs the independent international Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission (WMDC), is the author of forthcoming Why Nuclear Disarmament Matters (Boston Review Books). A book signing will follow the lecture. Blix’s published works also include Disarming Iraq (Pantheon, 2004).
