Screenwriter, Producer James Schamus to Deliver 2008 Gallatin Lecture at NYU, March 12


James Schamus, CEO of Focus Features, will deliver the 2008 Albert Gallatin Lecture at New York University’s Kimmel Center for University Life, Room 802 (60 Washington Square South at LaGuardia) on Wed., March 12 at 6 p.m. Schamus’ lecture is titled “Filmmaking, Storytelling, and the Indie Business.”

Schamus formed Focus Features, a motion picture production, financing, and distribution company, with David Linde in 2002. Schamus has had a long collaboration with Ang Lee, an alumnus of NYU’s Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film & Television, as writer and producer on 10 feature films, including Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
